crossen App Terms of Use
Version 2026-08-07 · The German text is authoritative.
1. Provider and scope
The crossen app is provided by:
crossen
Zurich, Switzerland
hello@crossen.app
These terms govern the use of the crossen app. The website crossen.app and the waitlist are governed by separate terms and conditions.
2. What crossen is
crossen connects you with people you have crossed paths with in real life. During a session you deliberately start, your device uses Bluetooth to detect nearby devices that are also running a session. In the evening, the app shows you a recap of your encounters. You can send a person your interest together with a personal note; if they accept, it becomes a match and you can chat.
crossen never shows live who is nearby, keeps no map and no movement profile, and never reveals to anyone whether you are currently using the app. Whether an encounter is detected depends on devices, operating systems and surroundings — crossen does not detect every encounter, and there is no entitlement to it. The app is free to use; there is no entitlement to particular features or uninterrupted availability.
3. Age requirement
crossen may only be used by persons aged 18 or over. By confirming this during onboarding you declare bindingly that you are at least 18 years old. If we become aware that a minor is using the app, we will suspend or delete the account.
4. Account
Your account is tied to your e-mail address; you sign in with a one-time code — there is no password. You are responsible for keeping access to your e-mail address. You can delete your account in the app at any time; it immediately becomes invisible to others and is permanently deleted after a 30-day recovery period.
5. Your content and conduct
Your profile must show you and be truthful; only use photos you hold the rights to. In notes and chats: no harassing, threatening, discriminatory or unlawful behaviour, no sharing of other people's personal data, no advertising and no spam. You retain the rights to your content and grant crossen the usage rights needed to operate the app.
6. Safety and moderation
You can block people at any time — a block is permanent and is never disclosed to the other person — and report content. When you report something, the content concerned is preserved as of the time of the report and reviewed by us. In the event of violations of these terms we may warn, temporarily suspend or permanently ban accounts.
7. Privacy
Which data the app processes, how long it is stored and which rights you have is described in the privacy policy. Private places you set in the app remain exclusively on your device.
8. Intellectual property
The app, its design and its content (except your own) belong to crossen and may not be reused without written consent.
9. Liability
crossen is operated with care. To the extent permitted by law, crossen's liability is excluded; this does not apply to intent and gross negligence. crossen has no influence over how other users behave and accepts no responsibility for it.
10. Changes to these terms
We may amend these terms. A new version will be shown to you in the app and must be accepted there before you can continue using crossen. The version whose number the app displays when you accept is the applicable one.
11. Governing law and jurisdiction
Swiss law applies. The place of jurisdiction is Zurich, Switzerland, unless mandatory statutory provisions provide otherwise.
